Who we are
Weather Fortune started with a simple frustration: classicweather channel sites are slow, cluttered, and locked behind accounts. We built a lightweight alternative focused on speed and clarity — type “Houston, Texas” or “Surat, Gujarat” and get current temperature, “feels like”, humidity, wind and gusts, pressure, cloud cover, UV index, sunrise and sunset, severe-weather alerts and the US air quality index where available — in seconds.
Forecasts are served through an edge-cached API, so repeat views load instantly anywhere in the world. Data comes fromOpen-Meteo (CC-BY 4.0) with an optional WeatherAPI provider — free forecast essentials without the bloat.
What we do
State-aware search — “Paris, Texas” finds the right Paris. City is parsed separately from state for ranking, not guesswork.
Hourly + 16-day forecast — 24-hour strip with precipitation probability plus a 16-day outlook with “rain from 3PM” summaries and precip bars.
Make local weather — weather near me, NYC weather,temperature today, the storm tracker and thelightning strike map — understandable for everyone, in their own language, on any device, even on slow connections. That is why the audio broadcast narrates conditions in 13 languages, and why the site ships dark mode, saved places, shareable links, and an offline rain game at /game.
